Ijaw Leader, Senator Sekibo slumps and dies in Bayelsa Governor’s office


Senator Tari Sekibo, President of the the pan-Ijaw socio-cultural organisation, the Ijaw National Congress, INC, is dead. DailyPost has learnt that Sekibo, 70, slumped and died Monday morning while waiting to see Governor Dickson of Bayelsa State in his office. The late Sekibo was immediately rushed to the Federal Medical Centre where he was confirmed dead on arrival. The deceased, an Okirika high chief from Rivers State was said to be in Yenagoa ahead of the forthcoming executive council meeting of the INC. The Publicity Secretary of the INC, Pastor Victor Burubo, who confirmed the sad development described Sekibo’s demise as sad and shocking. He said, “We have just heard the news that we have lost our President. We don’t have enough details but he died in Yenagoa. We are arranging to move to Yenagoa and get enough details on the sad incident.”
