Taraba Speaker, Haruna Tsokwa, is dead

The Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Haruna Tsokwa, is dead. Tsokwa died of an undisclosed ailment Monday morning at the Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo, the Taraba state capital.

It was learnt that the late Tsokwa took ill last Thursday and was rushed to a hospital, where he eventually passed on. Kefas Sule, spokesperson of Acting Governor, Garba Umar who confirmed the death said “He died this morning, after a brief illness,”. He however failed to provide further details, saying the state government was still awaiting reports from the Speakers’ Doctors.
